What is Waste Derived Fuel (RDF)?
- Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) is a type of alternative solid fuel with high calorific value obtained from non-recyclable material that remains after separating recyclable materials (plastic, glass, metal, etc.) from household or industrial waste, which is in a high calorific and combustible form.
Production and Application Areas of Waste Derived Fuel (RDF)
- At our factory located in Kahramankazan district owned by our company Serhat Waste, Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) is prepared taking the necessary precautions in a way that will not pose a risk to human health and the environment.
- The wastes accepted at our facility are separated based on their heavy metal content and calorific values, and verification analyses are conducted. A menu is created for the Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) to be prepared according to the analysis results. Within the scope of the created menu, wastes are mixed and fed into crushers. The separated wastes are made into small pieces to ensure proper feeding in the cement factory. The wastes that have reached the appropriate particle size are dispatched for use as supplementary fuel in the cement factory.

- Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) is an environmental technology product developed as an alternative to environmentally harmful fuels such as imported coal. It is consumed by cement factories that use high-temperature ovens in their processes due to its use as fuel.
Production and Application Areas of Waste Derived Fuel (RDF)
- Access to energy and resource diversity is of significant importance in the economic policies of every country. As a country with intensive energy usage in its industries and high energy imports, energy is particularly crucial for Turkey. The correct supply and appropriate use of energy increase the amount of energy obtained.
- While the net energy released from household waste using RDF is 3,000 – 3,500 kcal/kg, this figure can rise to 3,500 – 4,000 kcal/kg with the use of industrial waste. Resources with great energy potential generally consist of materials obtained from household/industrial waste. In Turkey, the amount of fuel that can be derived from household/industrial solid waste can reach up to 10,000 tons per day. This will contribute to reducing coal imports and lowering the current account deficit.
Benefits of Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) to the economy:
- Reduces coal import.
- Decreases fuel costs for cement factories.
- Ensures the conservation of natural resources.
- Enables the reintegration of waste into the economy through energy recovery.
- Reduces the amount of waste that will go to solid waste landfill facilities established by municipalities.
Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) Regulation
The Communique on Waste Derived Fuel (RDF),Supplementary Fuel, and Alternative Raw Materials, which is in force with the Official Gazette dated 20/06/2014 and numbered 29036, covers the principles related to the use of wastes as raw materials and the preparation of Waste Derived Fuel, the minimum conditions that must be met in Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) preparation facilities, and the technical and mandatory rules to be followed.

What is Waste Disposal, Companies in Ankara
- While the increase in industrialization provides a significant contribution to the economy, it also brings environmental problems. The biggest source of environmental problems is the failure to manage waste. In waste management, recovery is the most fundamental, and disposal has become mandatory for hazardous and non-recyclable wastes.
- In our country, waste disposal is provided by methods such as regular storage, deep injection, surface filling, incineration, evaporation, drying, etc.
- As Serhat Waste, we aim to recover every waste as an economic value before disposal. In this context, we lead the recovery sector by obtaining Waste Derived Fuel (RDF) through physical processing methods for all hazardous/non-hazardous wastes.
Hazardous Waste Disposal
- The toxic, combustible, irritating, carcinogenic, oxidizing, etc., properties of the wastes generated in industrial and industrial facilities define the waste as hazardous.
- As Serhat Waste, your hazardous wastes are collected from the point of waste with our special vehicles licensed for waste transport monitored 24/7 by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning and disposed of at our factory located in the Kahramankazan district.
- Protecting the environment and human health is our priority in the disposal of hazardous waste.
Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal
- Non-hazardous wastes resulting from various activities are sorted according to their calorific values at our factory located in the Kahramankazan district. Non-hazardous wastes that are sorted according to the menus created before the preparation of Waste Derived
